On March 9, 2026, the Management Board of the Blue Dragon Program held a working session at the Can Tho City Department of Agriculture and Environment (DAE). The meeting aimed to discuss the current state of local wastewater treatment, thereby designing the content for training topic No. 6, while assessing the needs for implementing a pilot project under the Climate and Innovation (KIWI) program.
The working session was attended by the Leadership and representatives from the Can Tho City DAE, the Department of Water Resources, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Rural Development and Quality Control, and the Center for Rural Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation. On the side of partners and experts, participants included scientists from Can Tho University, the management board and officers of the Blue Dragon program, members of the KIWI project, the trainer for topic No. 6, and interpreters.
During the morning session, the parties focused on analyzing the current status and needs of wastewater treatment in the city to construct a detailed content framework for the Blue Dragon training session No. 6 on "Wastewater Treatment". In addition, delegates and experts engaged in in-depth discussions on the feasibility of deploying a pilot model (encompassing wastewater treatment, rainwater harvesting, and community awareness raising) in Can Tho, while assessing the practicality of this model for An Giang Province.
